About
Hey there! I graduated from JMU in May 2015 with two Bachelors of Science: 1) Integrated Science and Technology and 2) Media Arts and Design.
I focus on interactive web development and the user experience; however, I also have passions for clean energy usage and project management. I'm a cookie baking phenom, a hand-knitting newbie, and a cowboy-boot wearing northerner. Oh, and I'm a substitute teacher in my spare time!

Work Experience
While at James Madison, I worked as a teaching assistant (TA) starting my freshman year. I've been a TA for Calculus, Physics, and Statistics. As a Calculus teaching assistant, I helped instruct Excel-based laboratories for a class size of roughly 30. I also graded labs and held review sessions. As a Physics and Statistics teaching assistant, I graded laboratory reports and assisted in daily course requirements.
Activities
During my sophomore year I was elected Merchandise Designer and Coordinator for my sorority, and in my junior year I was elected President of the ISAT National Honor Society.
Relevant Course Work
Virginia Wildlife Center: Fall 2014
I learned and implemented D3.js in the Virginia Wildlife Center's promotional site for WILD-ONe (an application for wildlife rehabers). Over 115,000 points of data fed into interactive graphics that could be updated on the fly. The site will hopefully be active by May 2015.
StudySpace: Spring 2014
StudySpace is a mobile app and web application that provides users the ability to view how occupied certain study and lab rooms are at James Madison University. The occupancy of each room is updated in real-time according to who enters/leaves the room.
RSYNC Daemon: Fall 2013
As a team, we converted a wireless router into a server in order to run rsync -daemon through DD-WRT. We were able to automatically push and pull files through CRONjobs on both Linux and Mac OSx operating systems.
CMC Howell: Spring 2013
In a group of 3, we consulted for CMC Howell, a commercial metals production company, in order to revamp their current product mix. We were able to project potential increase in profit and recommend products for make-buy-analysis.
Basic Commerce Industries, LLC.
During Summer 2014, I worked for Basic Commerce Industries as a contractor to Naval Sea Systems Command, Carderock Divison. I worked in the Philadelphia office developing and presenting metrics reports and instructing co-workers in Excel spreadsheet management and macro development.
